Andrea Orzati

Andrea Orzati

Chief Executive Officer

Andrea Orzati is Zurich Instruments' CEO. He is responsible for creating and orchestrating the company’s strategy. He joined Zurich Instruments in 2024, and works across departments to ensure organization’s technology leadership and an innovative and effective environment to work. Andrea’s professional life has been focused on growing businesses and scaling up organizations in the technology sector. He started his career as an ASIC designer at u-blox, then moved to the commercial side: a board member at TEQABLE and executive roles at Sensirion. He earned his PhD in microwave electronics at the ETH Zurich and an EMBA at the HEC Lausanne.

Flavio Heer

Chief Technology Officer

Flavio Heer is Zurich Instruments' CTO and co-founder. He is responsible for hardware development and intellectual property management. He is an expert in hardware design with a deep understanding of analog circuits and signal processing, and is passionate about applying his expertise to solving scientific challenges. Flavio earned his PhD from ETH Zurich, and he underwent management training at the University of St. Gallen.

Chief Sales Officer

Stephan M. Richter is the Chief Sales Officer at Zurich Instruments, leading global sales and marketing with a focus on customer value and long-term success. With over 15 years of international experience, he has a strong record in strategic leadership, business development, and building high-performing teams. Before joining Zurich Instruments, he drove global sales growth at Sensirion AG and ThyssenKrupp Presta AG. Fluent in German, English, and French, Stephan is committed to strengthening Zurich Instruments’ leadership in quantum computing and scientific measurement technologies.

Youssef Hautier

Chief Operating Officer
 

Youssef Hautier is Zurich Instruments' COO and is responsible for finance, production, supply chain, and IT. He joined the company in 2022 and brought over 25 years of professional experience covering all aspects of operations in an international context. Youssef worked in a variety of industries that include the computing, machinery, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. He holds an MSc from EPFL and an EMBA from HEC Lausanne.

Adrian Messmer

Human Resources

Adrian Messmer is Zurich Instruments' VP of HR. He joined Zurich Instruments in 2012; he previously worked at Philips Semiconductors, NXP, and ST-Ericsson as Development Manager for mobile communication platforms. With more than 25 years of experience in international high-tech environments, Adrian is a reference for people, project and change management. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Advanced Studies in Human Resources.

David Müller

David Müller

Vice President,
Research and Development

David Müller is Zurich Instruments' VP of R&D. He joined the company in 2022; previously, he was the Head of Corporate R&D Sensors & Electronics at Kistler Instruments and in the management of Supercomputing Systems AG. David is committed to bringing people together, to moving projects forward and to delivering innovative solutions in an ever-evolving market. He is also passionate about extending the limits of technical feasibility. David holds a PhD in High Energy Particle Physics and a degree in entrepreneurship.
