The SHFQA-LRT Long Readout Time Option is designed to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio in applications that need longer readout signal integration than available on the base QA Channel. Such a requirement often comes when using high-quality factor resonators, in the absence of quantum-limited parametric amplifiers in superconducting qubit experiments, or for RF-reflectometry readout in semiconductor spin qubit experiments.
The Long Readout Time Option allows users to perform multiplexed readout with a maximum integration length of 32 us and parallelized tune-up of readout frequencies for up to 3 qubits per channel. By adding 3 oscillators per channel, as well as downsampling of integration weight and waveform hold functionalities, the Long Readout Time Option enables optimal SNR operation for a wider variety of experiments. The oscillators modulate the envelope waveforms saved in the waveform memory for readout pulse generation at the QA Channel Outputs, and they modulate the integration weights saved in the integration weight unit for weighted integration at the QA Channel Inputs. The hold functionality is used to extend the readout pulse by holding the output level of a part of the readout envelope for up to 2 ms. The down-sampling function is used to extend the weighted integration length by sampling the integration weights at a lower sampling rate.
